Coney Street has turned its back on the river, but this wasn't always the case. Its connection with the River Ouse via numerous alleyways was once a key access point to the city. But in the twenty-first century, these alleyways lie all but abandoned.
This workshop considers the potential benefits of reinventing Coney Street's relationship to the river for modern uses - via alleyways, but also riverside facades, gardens, and the potential of a riverside walkway.
By sharing knowledge of previous connections to the river, we'll discuss the possible ways Coney Street's connection to the river could be improved. Included is a visit to the street to bring the research to life.
