Whether friendly, hostile, or entirely indifferent, aliens allow authors to explore an outside perspective on humanity. But after so many reported sightings and fictional representations, how can we create startling and original interstellar strangers for our stories?
About the workshop
This workshop will draw on existing works and the natural world for inspiration. We'll read extracts from authors past and present, and do some informal writing exercises to create our own surprising aliens.
There will be space to share your work, but this is completely optional, you are welcome to simply listen.
The workshop will be delivered over Zoom and will be recorded, everyone who signs up will receive a copy of the recording and a list of extracts.
