Continue the conversation

At its core, FastForward is focussed on connecting the next generation of leaders, and breaking down the silos that exist in the industry today. Following the form of our social events in Amsterdam, these FastForward Socials present more opportunities across the year to meet your peers in the industry.

Building on our first FFWDSocial at Tape London, our second Social for 2016 aims to get you in the mood for The Great Escape in Brighton (19-21 May), which many of you are attending. To that end, we're running a panel discussion, Synergies between Recorded & Live Music, opening the dialogue about how these key music industry sectors can provide greater value by working together.

Event times:

18:00 Pre-Panel Pizza & Drinks at WeWork Soho (Medius House)

19:00 Panel Discussion + Q&A

20:30 Drinks at Jerusalem Bar & Kitchen

Synergies between Recorded & Live Music

The live music industry has seen strong growth over the past decade, coinciding with a significant decline in recorded revenues. This led to a perception amongst many that artists make most of their money in live. However, the recorded industry brought in $15bn in 2015, the first period of industry growth in 20 years, showing that the recorded music sector still has a significant role to play in an artist’s revenue portfolio.

More than that, as recorded music and live music converge, there is opportunity for collaboration between these two sides of the business. Our panellists will provide commentary on where they see synergies between recorded and live music industries and how these can provide sustainable business models for all sectors of the music industry moving forward.

Our panellists for the next FFWDSocial are:

Sam Briggs Director of Business Development UK, Songkick

Matt Hanner Booker/Agent, Coda Agency

Claire Mas Head of Digital, Communion Music

Moderated by Chris Carey, CEO, Media Insight Consulting / Founder, FastForward

Networking Drinks

After the panel discussion, we invite you to join us at Jerusalem Bar & Kitchen for Networking Drinks; a chance to meet new industry folk and get planning for Great Escape adventures in Brighton!

Jerusalem Bar & Kitchen is located at 33-34 Rathbone Pl, London W1T 1JN.
