Join our engineer guided walk of the bridges of Glasgow’s River Kelvin, discover the reasons behind the built history of Glasgow's West End

Friends of the River Kelvin presents: Glasgow’s Kelvin Bridges civil engineering trail, in collaboration with the Institution of Civil Engineers and supported by The National Lottery Community Fund.Join this engineer guided walk exploring the bridges of Glasgow’s River Kelvin and find out how and why they were built as they are and why the West End of Glasgow looks the way it does. The walk will last approx. 90 minutes along the River Kelvin from Glasgow Botanic Gardens and explain some of the engineering behind the different bridges. You’ll learn about the social history of the area and the changing transport habits of Glaswegians.
