Interested in finding out more about ABRSM’s role as global music charity?
Perhaps you have some feedback or exciting new ideas you’d like to share with ABRSM?
Maybe you’ve never taken a music exam or heard of ABRSM but would like to connect with other musicians?
If any of these questions grab your attention, then we’d love for you to join our introductory webinar on Tuesday 6 May to find out more about ABRSM’s Youth Advisory Board.
Introducing ABRSM’s Youth Advisory Board
ABRSM’s Youth Advisory Board exists to champion the voices of the many children and young people making music in the UK today. Youth Advisory Board members will have the opportunity to get to know a global music education organisation up close and behind the scenes, and to support their personal and professional development, including through building networks and participating in conversations about music and music education.
Youth Advisory Board members will also play a key role in advising ABRSM on a wide range of topics relating to our products and services, including exams, publications, communications and philanthropic activities.
The Youth Advisory Board comprises three age groups:
Juniors (ages 10 - 13)
Seniors (ages 14 - 17)
Young Adults (ages 18 - 25)
Members meet online once a month to discuss a range of topics relating to ABRSM’s work as a music charity and exam board. In addition to the monthly sessions, there may be opportunities to participate in optional focus groups around specific topics and areas of interest, including contributing to discussions around developments at ABRSM.
If you’re interested in finding out more, please join us online on Tuesday 6 May – we are running two webinars, pitched for different age groups, as follows:
Session 1 (ages 10 – 15): 5.30pm - 6.10pm (you are currently on the page for this event)
Session 2 (ages 16 – 25): 6.30pm - 7.10pm (click here for this event)
The sessions are identical in terms of content, including an overview of ABRSM’s Youth Advisory Board and with plenty of time for questions. Each session will last for 45 minutes and will be led by Youth Voice Consultant Rylan Gleave, ABRSM's Deputy Head of Engagement James Welburn and current Youth Advisory Board member Sophie.
If you have any questions, or if you’d like to find out more but cannot attend the session, please get in touch with ABRSM via youthvoice@abrsm.ac.uk
