Investors: Find out more about this exciting new community energy project, and join the co-operative and collaborative movement to reduce energy bills and carbon emissions while earning interest on your investment.
What is Energise Buckinghamshire?
To make solar power more accessible and to reduce energy bills for homeowners, we’ve launched Energise Buckinghamshire, a community-owned, innovative project that provides a free solar and home battery storage system, for a monthly service fee.
The first phase of 100 homes is open to homeowners in Amersham, Chesham, Weston Turville, Haddenham and Princes Risborough, before rolling out to further villages and towns in the second phase from 2027. This will give us a forecast 4.2MW of solar generation and battery storage combined by the end of 2028.
You can invest from £100 to £100,000 to help us reach our target of £2.3m so we can install 200 Energise Buckinghamshire systems over the next two years. Investors will be a mix of local Buckinghamshire residents and organisations and nationally-based social impact investors.
This is a community investment vehicle for community benefit and an ethical, sustainable, climate and people-friendly commercial model which will interest anyone with with some savings they can spare to make a positive impact. This share offer is targeting an annual 5% return to investors.
The project will also provide community and climate benefits by helping the Grid decarbonise, one roof at a time!

What will I learn?
Buckinghamshire Community Energy's Chair, Kirsty Shanahan, will take you through the project and explain how it will operate to save our host homeowners money while earning interest for our community investors who fund the installations.
By the end, you will understand the operational model, the value drivers which yield surplus for investors and community benefit, and how investment in this project will benefit the energy system and local people by bringing energy generation and use down to community level.
The presentation will be followed by a Q&A, and we'd love to hear your thoughts on ways to raise awareness about the project in Amersham.
