You may not have heard much about KTPs, so our workshop aims to outline the fantastic opportunities they bring, giving you the chance to hear from graduates about this amazing, innovative pathway to kick start your future career.KTPs are collaborative partnerships between academia and industry, in which a 3-way partnership is established between a business, a University and a KTP Associate. The Associate leads and manages the KTP, transferring knowledge from academia into industry and ultimately leading to commercial, real-life impact.KTP Associate opportunities are available across all sectors, business sizes and specialisms across the UK. They enable Associates to work closely with experts in the sector and academia and provide a dedicated professional development allowance which is ring-fenced for the post holders to develop themselves personally and professionally.On this 1-hour session, you will hear from KTP experts, as well as current and past KTP Associates, to find out what Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) are, the crucial role KTP Associates play within these collaborative projects to solve industry challenges, and the benefits of becoming a KTP Associate.Our speakers:Philippa Ryan, Knowledge Transfer Adviser for Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire (Innovate UK – KTN), Philippa has been a KTP Adviser since 2005, supporting partnerships in the East Midlands by building successful relationships between businesses and academia. She is a Chartered Manufacturing Engineer with a keen interest in professional development activities and business development through people.Matthew Ellison, Load Carriage Biomechanist – KTP Associate (current KTP Associate) at Arktis Endurance Textiles, Ltd.Matthew joined the University of Lincoln in 2020 as part of a knowledge transfer partnership in partnerships with Arktis Endurance Textiles and the University of Lincoln, to investigate injury and performance during load carriage in police and military populations.Barbara Correia, UKRI Future Leaders Fellow &amp; Postdoctoral Research Scientist, at B-Hive Innovations (Former KTP Associate)Barbara worked on a knowledge transfer partnership, in partnership with B-Hive Innovations and the University of West of England, aimed to develop a new gas sensing technology to non-destructively detect internal defects in potatoes before reaching the consumer.
