A Maritime Evening at Nordic House
Join us for a special evening of maritime folk music celebrating Hull’s seafaring heritage – and one of its most infamous pubs.
Nordic House will host a double-header with the London Sea Shanty Collective and Wolfy O’Hare & Sam Martyn.
The evening will feature songs from The Earl de Grey, a folk opera inspired by the notorious Hull pub that once stood in Castle Street. Expect a rousing selection of traditional and original maritime songs, performed by LSSC, including Hull’s own Chris Wilson – and a blend of traditional and original music from the renowned local talents of Wolfy and Sam.
Wolfy is a trained classical singer and medieval music specialist with a passion for folk music, while Sam brings years of experience as a singer and musician with an extensive performance history.
The event will raise funds for Nordic House and the Sailors’ Children’s Society, a charity that has supported disadvantaged children from seafaring families for more than 200 years.
It promises to be an atmospheric night of music at Nordic House – itself a building steeped in maritime tradition.
