Data Protection Basics (Morning Session) (*FREE of charge)
Participants will gain the knowledge and skills needed to navigate data protection in real-world scenarios. Attendees will also gain an understanding of the UK’s key data protection legislation (the UK General Data Protection Regulations and the Data Protection Act 2018).

Lawful Digital Marketing and Consent (Afternoon Session)
This half-day course sets out and explains the regulatory framework for conducting lawful marketing via electronic means. Participants will not only gain knowledge of key laws operating in this sphere – the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and the UK General Data Protection Regulations – but will also understand their relationship in a marketing context. The course addresses a knowledge gap when consent is needed to lawfully send marketing messages to individuals and how to demonstrate compliance when obtaining valid consent (including for cookies). This is achieved with accessible explanations of the rules, real-life examples and case studies.
This course will benefit participants of all seniority, who work in creative or IT roles, along with those who have more compliance-focused positions. It is suitable for attendees of all types of organisations because the content is designed to address a key business practice employed by all (marketing). This is an intermediate course for professionals who already have a good knowledge of key UK GDPR elements, principles, and individual rights.

- Explain the relationship between PECR and the UK GDPR in the context of electronic marketing.
