I have a pupil with additional needs in order to take part, who do I tell?

Please contact jenny.gracie@ed.ac.uk, as soon as possible to discuss accessibility requirements. We will strive to mirror the adjustments in place in school in our labs, to ensure everyone has access.

How many days can one school book?

At the moment, we are allowing one full day per school, this is to ensure many schools have access to the facilities.

Question 3

How many pupils can one school bring?

Each school can book space for 20 pupils. If you have more than 20 pupils in your advanced higher class, please get in touch with jenny.gracie@ed.ac.uk to discuss.

Question 4

What support is there, can I bring more staff?

Accepted Answer

Sessions are teacher lead, and you are more than welcome to bring additional staff to support. Lab demonstrators will be in the lab to help with inquiries and ensure safety, but they are not there to lead the experiments. A class teacher (familar with AH chemistry) MUST be present at all times.

Question 6

Can I park on campus?

There is ample free street parking surrounding the campus, with a drop off/pick up  point directly outside the main chemistry building, a few minutes walk to the Nucleus entrance. Parking on the university campus is by permit only, which must be requested at least one week prior to your visit.

Question 7

What lunch options are available on campus?

There are a few cafes and a shop on campus, which visitors are welcome to use (card/contactless payments only). There are also facilities in the Nucleus for heating food or eating packed lunches.
