Join Morag Anderson, Alexandra Corrin-Tachibana and Ken Evans for an evening of poetry on Thursday 8th May at 6:30pm. Each poet will be reading from their latest collection.

Morag Anderson’s second chapbook, And I Will Make of You a Vowel Sound,won the Aryamati Poetry Pamphlet Prize and was described by TS Eliot Prize-winning poet Joelle Taylor asDelicate and furious…a haunting act of worship, of rebellion, and story.

She was poet-in-residence for the 2024 Birnam Book Festival and for Dublin’s Creative Brain Week 2024 held at Trinity College. Recentcommissions include The Scottish Poetry Library,The Canmore Suicide Prevention Trust, The National Trust for Scotland, and the Perth Festival of the Arts.

Alexandra Corrin-Tachibana’s first full collection,Sing me down from the dark,in in its third issue. Jacqueline Saphra described it as ‘Vulnerable, direct and formally exact, these are generous, courageous and devastating poems that will draw you in, hold you close and leave you feeling wrung out but triumphant.’

To An Occupier Burning Holes, Ken Evans ’ new collection, 'A Full On Basso Profundo', published in February 2025. Ken's previous collection, also from Salt, was published in 2022, 'To An Occupier Burning Holes'. His poems appear in Poetry Scotland, Magma, Under the Radar, 14, The High Window, IS&T, The Interpreter’s House. He won the Kent & Sussex Poetry Competition (2018); and Battered Moons (2016).

The majority of our events are held on our First Floor and our event space has level access.

There is on-street parking in Infirmary Street, Chamber Street, Drummond Street and Roxburgh Place (paid till 6:30pm), and Blue Badge Holders can park on the single yellow just outside Caffè Nero on Infirmary Street. 

Our Caffè Nero is open till 7pm on weekdays for pre-event coffee and cake (or tea and panini).
