A journey into the beauty, power and vastness of Sri Chinmoy’s musical compositions. A concert that will lift you, heart and soul...

One of the easiest ways to meditate is to listen to spiritual music that has been composed from a deep meditative consciousness and that is performed in a meditative state.

About Ananda

Ananda are a group of singers and musicians based in various locations around Great Britain. We arrange the beautiful and haunting melodies of Sri Chinmoy for guitar, harmonium, mandolin, tabla, violin, keyboard, percussion and voice. All the songs have a meditative quality - which we strive to express whilst performing.

Ananda first started performing as part of the Sri Chinmoy Centre's meditation classes and discovered that many people found listening to meditative music an easy and accessible way to meditate. This inspired us to start giving concerts and we have since performed in many locations all around the world. We feel that our performances are part of our own spiritual practice as well as offering something to the audience.

All our concerts are performed free of charge.

How do I find the venue?

St. James Priory is very close to Bristol bus station. The entrance is on Whitson Street, just before you get to the junction with Lower Maudlin Street. It leads to a small courtyard and the entrance to the church itself.

Is there parking at the venue?

No, you cannot park at St. James Priory. There is limited paid parking on the streets nearby. Or you can park at nearby car parks e.g. Cabot Circus. Alternatively, the venue is right next to Bristol bus station so you could come by bus instead.
