In a beautiful 130-year old Alfred Waterhouse building, Manchester Museum stands proud as part of the University of Manchester on Oxford Road. Visitors lose themselves in stories of what it is to be human and rethink their relationships with the natural world, but how many really think about the museum itself?
Focusing on architecture, this special guided tour will take you on a journey through time, since the Museum origins to the Manchester Museum that we love today.
After the tour, we will offer tea, coffee and a light snack at the Museum Picnic Area.
The tour starts at 1.15 pm and the refreshments will be available from 2 pm.
Please arrive at 1 pm for registration. If you have any questions, contact Maria Jose Ramos Acevedo via email on maria.ramosacevedo@manchester.ac.uk or phone on 07818 578 474.
*Please note, the Museum’s galleries are not open on Mondays so you will not be able to visit the rest of the Museum following this event.
