About Art Hike

Are you an artist, designer, creative practitioner or simply enjoy creative activities and events? Do you like hiking and the great outdoors? Would you like to combine the two to take a walk with other creative and like-minded people? If the answer to these questions is “yes” then please join us for the next Art Hike. There is a small charge to take part.

Art Hike was established in 2007 by artists Robin Widdowson and Adele Jackson who both have a passion for creative endeavour and the great outdoors. The aims of Art Hike are to make new connections, encourage collaborations, exchange ideas and to simply have a really good day out away from our busy work lives.

About the Hike:

Join us for a scenic art hike at Parlick Fell! This event will take you on a circular route through the stunning landscapes of Parlick and Fair Snape Fell. Whether you're a seasoned artist or just starting out, this hike is perfect for anyone who enjoys creativity and the great outdoors.

Winding our way up the steep sides of Parlick Hill to the summit overlooking Beacon Fell and beautiful glacial vale of the Forest of Bowlan (and even Blackpool Tower in the distance)

Once at the top the terrain is relatively steady as we make our way along a wide ridge that leads us up to the summit of Fair Snape Fell with its magnificent viewpoints – perfect inspiration for creative endeavours and great spot for lunch.

Once refreshed, we zig-zag to the foot of the hill and meander around the base and back to our starting point and for those who fancy a post walk refreshment we can head to The Sun Inn, in the village of Chipping.

What to wear:

It will be springtime, so please be prepared, we hope for good weather however it could be unsettled. Please bring waterproof and suncream. Sturdy footwear is essential and walking poles are recommended if you have them. If you are responsible for others, please ensure that they are suitably dressed.

Well behaved dogs are welcome as long as they are kept on leads at all times

What to bring:

Lunch & refreshments, water and money and art material if you want too.

Please note: You will be solely responsible for your own safety and transport arrangements. We accept no responsibility for any loss, injury or illness as a result of joining the hike. Robin is trained in first aid and will carry a first aid kit.

We look forward to seeing you there
