What does my ticket cover?

Accepted Answer

Your Annual Conference ticket gives you access to all sessions, keynotes, receptions, tours and workshops, and the bookfair, and includes lunch and morning/afternoon refreshments. Tickets do not include evening meals, accommodation, and some external visits/tours (which will be flagged up).

Question 2

I am not a member of the Association – do you have to be a member to attend the conference?

Accepted Answer

No!  Non members are very welcome.  However, members receive discounted conference tickets as well as a host of other benefits throughout the year.  You can purchase Memberships on the Membership page of the AAH website, and a link there can be found in the About this event section above.

Question 3

If I buy a one-day ticket, how do I confirm which day I am coming?

Please complete the dropdown box at the end of the booking form. If you buy a one-day ticket and do not complete the form, we will be in touch to check with you.

Question 4

Am I eligible for a concessionary ticket?

Accepted Answer

Concessionary tickets apply to anyone who is a student or on low income (earning below £20,000 per year or currency equivalent). Please note that you will be asked to provide proof of your concessionary status at the Conference Registration Desk.

Question 5

Will I receive an actual ticket?

Accepted Answer

You will receive a ticket from Eventbrite by email.  Please retain this and bring it with you (if you forget we'll have a booking list to check names). When you arrive at the Annual Conference you will need to take your ticket to Conference Registration to pick up your badge and other information.

Question 6

I have a disability. How accessible is the conference and what support can you provide?

All University buildings that we use are accessible to people with mobility issues, but please do get in touch with the Conference Coordinator before you book, so we can provide you with more detailed information in advance and ensure that your access needs can be supported.

Question 7

Can I attend the Conference digitally?

Accepted Answer

There is no provision for delegates to attend the main conference digitally. There is a limited capacity for papers to be delivered online, but this needs to be agreed in advance with the Session Convenor for a particular session.

Question 8

Can you provide me with an invitation letter for my visa application?

Accepted Answer

If you are a confirmed speaker or convenor at the Annual Conference then yes, we can provide letters for use for visa application. We do not issue visa letters for delegates who are not convening a session or presenting a paper in a session.

Question 9

Can I attend with my baby?

Accepted Answer

Of course! If you would like access to a private room to breastfeed in, rest with your babies or express, please contact the Conference Coordinator or ask at Conference Registration on the day.

Question 10

What is the refund policy?

Accepted Answer

We can offer a refund on your tickets up until 2 weeks before the Conference. This refund will be less any Eventbrite fees.

Can you help me find accommodation during the Conference?

Accepted Answer

Our partners at the University of York have provided a list of hotels and other places to stay. There is a link to this on the Conference page of the Association for Art History website.
