About this event

  • Event lasts 8 hours

There are about sixty thousand books on leadership and influencing that you can buy online. Even if you managed to read all of these and could successful deploy some of the techniques, you would probably only ever be thought of as a competent or good Accountant.

Finance professionals, outside the CFO roles, can be seen as people who have solid technical skills but are there to play a subservient role within an organisation.

“Good managers, but too introverted, and not innovative enough to be great leaders and influencers in an organisation”.

Even worse, we sometimes think that you need to be at an executive level before you start developing your leadership skills the highest level.

Gary Cox ACMA, CGMA, wants to help you break the mould and any ceilings imposed on you as a Finance professional.

He is extremely passionate and skilled in showing people a clearer picture of how they could become more influential and an exceptional leader, regardless of title or function, within their organisation. These skills are also essential for people who serve the SME community.

This unique workshop for finance professionals is also accompanied by a couple of online sessions to help you keep the momentum going and give you further support.

The day is full of interaction, knowledge sharing, and self-challenge, designed to take your mind away from all those preconceptions and characterisations of leadership.

The focus is to help you set your own leadership baseline, understanding how you can strengthen your level of influence across any organisation, and motivate people to think and act outside of their normal comfort zones.

And at the end of the day, Gary has something special and very inventive called, the leadership challenge’, which will help you to discover your own leadership skills.

What to expect on the day!

You will have the chance to interact throughout the day, both as individuals and within small groups.

Each of the four sessions will be dedicated to helping you enhance your leadership skills, identifying areas for improvement, and guiding you toward becoming an exceptional leader.

Gary will share with you:

  • Factors which suppress and influence our leadership skills.
  • How to create a leadership baseline so you can further develop yourself.
  • The number one skill that all exceptional leaders have, and how you can develop that skill to a high level.
  • The techniques that will help you connect better and build strong advocacy across any organisation.
  • Why finance people are in a unique position to facilitate different types of thinking and influence decision making.

Gary is always thoughtful about your experience throughout the day and how he can assist you in becoming an influential voice and exceptional leader. Delegate places are limited, to ensure that from the mixture of knowledge, interaction and small challenges, that you each walk away with tangible new skills. He will ensure you also have some fun and leave feeling inspired and motivated!

Follow Up to the day:

Includes in the package are two further session to be held on Zoom (dates to be confirmed) these are to review the principles and how well you may have been able to apply them, and to extend your appreciation of how to become an exceptional leader with an influential voice.
