About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Join the West Lothian Ranger Service for some conservation tasks in Beecraigs Country Park. For this session we will be carrying out tasks in Hillhouse Wood, which makes up the northern area of the Country Park. Our task to carry out is to cut back an area of gorse bush around the viewing area looking across to the Firth of Forth. We will be doing a controlled burn of the the cut gorse on site.

All tools and a full tool safety talk will be provided by the Ranger. If you have some, please bring along a pair of gloves with you, and wear appopriate clothing for the weather. Good sturdy footwear is also advised. Please bring along any snacks and drinks you require. No prior experience is necessary to take part in the sessions, new volunteers are always welcome!

The session will run for two hours starting at 10am, and the meeting place is outside the Beecraigs Visitor Centre.
