Welcome to the Pasquinelli School of Millinery where we offer immersive modulated 4-week courses designed to develop your hat-making skills creating your own seasonal headwear within a structured program, perfect for aspiring milliners and seasoned crafters alike, with tailored modules dedicated to winter and summer styles as well as a more advanced workshop for those looking to refine their techniques.

This second module focuses on crafting light, stylish headwear ideal for warmer weather and special occasions, such as fascinators, cocktail hats or sun hats.

Key learning points include:

  • Blocking - Straw and Sinamay: Develop skills to block these popular summer materials into various hat shapes suitable for both casual and formal wear.
  • Fabric Flower Making: Learn to craft delicate fabric flowers that add a summery touch to hats.
  • Feathering: Explore techniques for shaping and manipulating feathers to enhance headpieces.
  • Veiling: Learn the subilties incorporating veiling into designs, adding elegance and sophistication.

Weekly demonstrations introducing a variety of techniques and materials. Students are encouraged to practice hand-stitching at home to maximize class time.

Specifically designed for beginners and students, along with fashion designers and experienced craft makers wanting to expand their portfolio and skill set, this range of classes has something for every aspiring milliner. Given in-depth training with a wealth of professional tips and key techniques covering blocking, wiring, trimming and decorating, emphasising the craftsmanship, creativity and attention to detail that Pasquinelli is renowned for, you’ll explore the art of millinery through a combination of hands-on practice and expert guidance in a supportive and inspiring working-studio environment, progressing through a broad range of styles and seasons, experimenting with new materials whilst creating your own, bespoke, professionally moulded, couture headwear.
