About this event

  • Event lasts 4 hours

For our next Behind the Scenes screen industries meetup, we're focusing on skills and opportunities for people in the industry, and the challenges for finding work or moving to different sectors.

The evening will begin with some casual networking, followed by an introduction by Sara Whybrew from the BFI, before then going into our panel discussion on the skills gap.

We'll then have separate breakout sessions focusing on specific challenges for different areas of the industry.

We'll also have a showcase area where you can meet local suppliers and find some useful resources.

Panel discussion: Freelance forward - evolving skills for a changing industry

Our panel of experts from broadcast, education and the film industry will help answer the most pressing questions from our host Adam Millbank, as well as the audience.

  • What other skills should those in the screen industries be looking to add?
  • What are the development opportunities?
  • Where can people access training and networking?
  • What opportunities are available in branded settings?
