About this event

  • This event run by the Apparel Design Engineering (ADE) research group at the University of Manchester is for anyone wishing to participate in having their body scan captured.
  • Participants will have their scan captured by our Size Stream (SS20) body scanner located within the Engineering A building and will receive a printed list of their measurements and a custom printout of their scan image.
  • Being body scanned requires you to adopt a standing positon in the body scan booth for 2-3 minutes.

Participants will need to book in to the event. On arrival to the Engineering A building please make your way to the core 3 lifts on the ground floor. You can use the lifts or the stairs in the core to make your way to floor 4. On leaving the lifts turn left and use the bell outside the entrance door to gain access to the area where room 4A.032 in located.

The Engineering A building is located behind the Commonwealth pool on Oxford Road and can be accessed from Grosvenor Street (North entrance) or Booth Street East (South entrance).

Apparel Design Engineering is a collaboration of researchers with extensive experience of applying body scanning technology in the process of human measurement for product development. Based in The University of Manchester Department of Materials we use scanning technology provided by Size Stream to capture the human body and welcome anyone who wishes to engage with this technology.
