About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

This is a collaboration between De Naaierij and The Social Hub.

Join us for a cozy and inspiring Breakfast & Learn Session at the Social Hub, where we’ll explore the deep connection we have with the clothes we wear. In a world of overconsumption, it’s easy to forget the value of what we already own. Let’s shift our focus and learn to cherish the pieces that accompany us every day.

We’ll start by sharing Naaierij’s mission to challenge overconsumption and talk about the stories our clothes hold. Then, enjoy a Mindful Clothing Meditation, where we’ll reflect on the garments we wear and their meaning to us. Finally, we’ll invite you to write a Love Letter to Your Favorite Garment, appreciating the value it brings to your life.
Dress in your favorite garment—the one that makes you feel most yourself—and come ready to reflect, relax, and celebrate the clothes you already have.

Leave with a renewed appreciation for your wardrobe and a deeper connection to the things you love.

About De Naaierij:
De Naaierij is a sustainable sewing studio where you can learn to either repair your own clothing or have it repaired. We aim to raise awareness about sustainable fashion, focusing on clothing repair and countering overconsumption. We want to show that clothing can almost always be repaired and that it can be a lot of fun to do so. At De Naaierij, we offer various workshops and courses to teach you repair skills, or you can have your clothing repaired by us.
We prefer to make repairs visible, turning them into a distinctive feature of the garment, which adds even more value. Additionally, we offer timeless vintage clothing made from natural materials, as well as second-hand sewing machines, haberdashery, and fabrics.

This way, we work together to reduce clothing waste and production. After all, there’s already plenty of beautiful clothing in the world.
