About this event

Celtic Wheel Of The Year - "The Maternal Journal"

"As Without - So Within"

The Ancient Celts knew this to be an inherent truth and strove to reflect what was happening in the external landscape and apply it inwardly to our own personal experience.

As mothers we have the greatest role model in Mother Nature herself, and as she moves through the seasons and cycles of the natural world, we can apply that inherent wisdom to our own lives.

The Celtic Wheel of the Year celebrates the Summer & Winter Solstices, the Spring & Autumn Equinoxes and the four Cross Quarter Festivals which take place about every six weeks.

Working with your “Maternal Journal”, we will take these periodic moments to pause, reflect and come into alignment with what is taking place in the outside world.

Taking inspiration from the teachings offered by the natural wheel we will select and sow our own seeds, plant and water them, nourish and nurture them, watch them blossom and bloom, reap and harvest them and finally give space for the earth to replenish and lie fallow in order to successfully repeat the cycle.

Your seeds are your own - whether they be goals, aspirations, objectives, ambitions, aims, projects, hopes or dreams. All you need is mindful presence; to watch the patterns and cycles of Mother Nature and listen to what she is teaching you - with a keen eye and ear.

As mothers, caregivers and nurturers, it is an invaluable way to see what we can glean from the charting of both our internal and external landscapes.

All you need is your “Maternal Journal” - a plain notebook in which to write your thoughts and feelings or draw your inspiration and visions.

It is a completely private endeavour and individual process (camera’s off is absolutely welcome), with no sharing of words or pictures. Each participant has full autonomy in how much they want to engage: actively and creatively or passively and reflectively.

Sessions will take place online on the Sunday that falls closest to each festival:
