About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Six FABULOUS storytellers bring a mini festival, live (or watch later) to the comfort of your own home, and present a charity evening in aid of Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders. In an uncertain world, where climate change is bringing disaster and political upheaval means men, women and children are suffering at the hands of despots, let us take you away for a short while, to worlds of wonder and hope.

Our professional storytellers are performing free, to bring help to the helpless, the world over. Give whatever you can and 100% of your donated ticket price will go to one of the worlds most worthy charities, where medical professionals daily risk their lives, to help those who need them most.

Storytellers (in alphabetical order) Carl Gough, Cath Edwards, Dave Tonge, Jon Norman-Mason, Jason Buck and Roz Buck will each give us a favourite story from their word hoard, for your entertainment ... just give us a few pennies for their time, and for an excellent cause.

Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is an international humanitarian organisation providing medical care in more than 70 countries. Medical professionals from all over the world freely give up their time and expertise to provide vital help where there is little or no medical provision, be it due to poverty, famine, disease or war, and often at great risk to their often safety. More about them on their website here...
Ages: Adult and families (9+)

How to watch live

Please choose the watch live ticket (you can still watch later if you change your mind), but we can only accomodate a limited number of 'screens' on Zoom live.

You'll receive an email after buying a ticket, with the ability to log into your digital ticket for links to the Zoom session.

I will be online 15 at least minutes before the start of the show to help, where possible (but can't help after the event has started).

You may need to download and install the app Zoom Client for Meetings to participate, so best to do that ahead of time (compatible with most computers and phones etc.): https://zoom.us/download

How to watch at a later date

If you're definitely going to watch later, please choose the watch later link (so we can get the maximum number of poeple into the live Zoom).

All ticket holders will get a private link to an unlisted YouTube video of the live show. If you are unable to attend the event, you can watch it later. Purchase a ticket as normal and you will be sent a private link to watch the show within 1 - 2 days of the live event.

Drawing on traditional favourites and introducing new ideas, Jason's stories are told in the oldest and best ways – as live performances, for modern audiences and he has performed across the UK and mainland Europe, blending traditional and contemporary motifs, vocal sound effects and pure, unadulterated fantasy.Jason has been a performer most of his adult life, including cabaret and comedy, but his passion lies in stories - ‘there's nothing like getting lost in a story, the pictures in your head are better than film’.Jason has written and published four collections of his own stories, won silver at the last ‘Grand Annual Lying Festival’ and 'Best Bard' at Profound Decisions' 'Theatre of Joy and Sorrow'. He is also a member of the Society for Storytelling, a skilled celebrant for weddings / handfasting, namings and funerals and a member of the UK Society of Celebrants.Jason now lives in Leamington Spa with his family: Partner Kim, son Oskar, and Percy the cat.
