Speaker: Andrew Braddock, FCILT

Starting with British Rail in 1965 then London Transport the first time round (1966-68), the Bristol Omnibus Company (1968-1976), London Country Bus Services (1976-1984), Alder Valley - The Thames Valley & Aldershot Omnibus Company (1984-86), Alder Valley North, transitioning to The Bee Line - The Berks Bucks Bus Company (1986-1990), back to London Transport, which became Transport for London (1991-2003) and independent consultancy (2003-2020), Andrew Braddock has been involved in running trains, buses and trams in both the public and private sectors.

He will comment on UK transport policy from the mid-nineteenth century to the twenty-first, with its political swings through private and public ownership, regulation and deregulation, nationalisation and privatisation, all the while remembering that what really matters is the passenger!

He's passionate about the contribution a properly integrated public transport network can make to urban renewal, new housing developments and improved quality of life based on experience of continental European practice.
