Environmental conservation is a continuous effort that requires dedication, community engagement, and data-driven actions. As part of our commitment to protecting our coastlines, The Climate Tribe is returning to Al Selmiyyah Beach on February 13, 2025, for a second cleanup drive—building on the success of our first initiative in October 2024.

Why Are We Returning?

The goal of this cleanup is not only to remove debris but also to assess the long-term impact of our previous efforts. By revisiting the same site, we can analyze how much waste has re-accumulated, identify pollution sources, and refine our strategies for future cleanups. This will provide valuable insights into waste patterns and highlight the effectiveness of community-driven conservation efforts.

A Shared Responsibility

Al Selmiyyah Beach, like many coastal areas, faces growing challenges due to marine pollution. Plastics, fishing gear, and other debris not only harm marine life but also affect the natural beauty of the environment. Our cleanup initiatives aim to reduce this impact while fostering a culture of sustainability among local communities, volunteers, and organizations.

What to Expect

Participants will not only take part in a hands-on cleanup but also contribute to data collection and impact measurement, helping us track progress over time. Volunteers will receive eco-friendly cleanup kits and guidance on proper waste segregation.

• Please register individually using your full name, mobile number, and email.

• Arrive 15 minutes early for registration/check-in.

• Wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for wet or muddy conditions (e.g., wet shoes).

• Bring sun protection, including hats, sunscreen, and sunglasses.

• Bring reusable water bottles/flasks; water dispensers will be available, but no plastic bottles.

• Toilet facilities will be available at the meeting point.

• Litter pickers will not be provided; gloves will be distributed.
