Join Decrypthut to explore the exciting world of tech at our free Coding in Canvey workshop for 16 to 25-year-olds.
Organised by Ambitious Essex, We Rise and Castle Point Borough Council, the workshop, Wonders of Technology - Robotics, will explore the latest innovations in the tech world.
Across the day, you'll learn more about the tech's educational uses, the ever-growing green tech sector, discover how to code programmable robots and get hands-on with the latest VR technology.
Attendees will develop their critical thinking, problem solving and creativity through getting stuck in and exploring the possible in today's tech world.
The workshop will also encourage teamwork and promote digital literacy, as well as responsible tech use.
No experience is needed, so whether you're a tech enthusiast or just curious about tech and coding, there's something for everyone at the Wonders Of Technology workshop.

Registration and icebreaker activities:
- Welcome and introductions
- Icebreaker activities
An introduction to educational technologies:
- An overview of educational tech tools
- Explore the benefits provided by the use of technology in education
- Run through examples of innovative tools and resources
Hands-on activity one - Coding and Robotics:
- An introduction to coding and robotics
- A demo of coding concepts, featuring Decrypthut's programmable robots!
- Group task - work in teams to programme the robots to complete tasks
Lunch break
Hands-on activity two - Virtual Reality (VR) Exploration:
- An introduction to VR technology and its use in education
- Interactive VR headset experience
- Group discussion on VR and the possibilities it could create
Workshop reflection and closing:
- Group reflection on the workshop and discussion of key takeaways
- Conclusion and distribution of certificates

- Food will be provided as part of the workshop. If you have any dietary requirements, please include these on the sign up form where indicated.
