Description
We hope you will be able to join us for this on campus event on the 16 May 2025 and meet the next generation of computing professionals.
This year our first year students from all our undergraduate Computing & Informatics degrees will take part in Computing in Business (CiB), an integrated assignment that assesses their skills in designing a system solution for a client.
This event is the culminating Exhibition where the students are given an opportunity to share and demonstrate their designs to industry guests, academics and peers. Students will be given a brief with a hypothetical business problem, set this year by BAE Systems, the client. Working in groups, students will design a proposed system design to solve the problem.
This event is a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their work, and each year we are incredibly proud to see their great system designs.
In addition, between 13:30 and 14:30 our faculty placements team will be hosting an information session for employers, to talk about setting up placements and the mutual benefits they bring to employers and students. There will be lunch provided during the placement talk. So if you are a business that is new to placements, our team would love to speak to you and share their advice and guidance.
We would like to invite you to come along to attend the exhibition, see the students work and, if you so choose, take part in scoring the entries and help us make the exhibition more realistic for the students. Please join us at 10:30 if you would like to be a scoring attendee. The main exhibition will open at 11am.
Guest Parking is available in our visitor car park for those arriving by car. Once parked, please make your way to the Fusion Building for registration. Additional directions can be found on our website.
