Join West Lothian Rangers and the Conservation Volunteers group to carry out some practical tasks in our greenspaces throughout the county.
For this session we will be based in Beecraigs Country Park. Our task is to improve the paths that make up the Purple Route in the southern section of the Country Park. The majority of the Purple Route is actually unsurfaced, and gives users a different experience from the surfaced tracks and forest roads in other parts of the Park. We will be scraping back mud to improve the draininage, and cut back encroaching and overhanging vegetation to open up the canopy.
All tools and a full tool safety talk will be provided by the Ranger. If you have some, please bring along a pair of gloves with you, and wear appopriate clothing for the weather. This would be a time to break out the wellies! Please bring along any snacks and drinks you require. No prior experience is necessary to take part in the sessions, new volunteers are always welcome!
The session will run for two hours starting at 10:30am, and the meeting place is Balvormie Car Park in Beecraigs Country Park. We hope to see you there!
