Unplug from your screens and dive into the tactile world of traditional letterpress printing in this hands-on workshop. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this engaging 3 hour session offers the perfect opportunity to explore the art of letterpress printing while creating something unique.
Have the opportunity to select your own letters from a wide collection of wood and metal type provided by the Letterpress artists. Be guided step-by-step through the process of setting and “locking up” their type, mixing their own inks, learning how to operate a press, and finally creating their very own printed posters. Choose a quote from our collection or arrive with your chosen quote or statement (max 5/6 words) to design and print your own poster.
What to Expect:
✨ Learn Traditional Techniques – Discover the history and craft of letterpress printing using authentic, vintage printing equipment.
🎨 Ink Mixing & Colour Matching – Experiment with ink mixing and explore the art of colour matching to create stunning visuals.
🖼 Create & Take Home Your Masterpiece – Design your own A5 poster and print 5 copies to cherish or share with friends and family.
🤝 Build Community – Meet fellow creatives, exchange ideas, and enjoy the collaborative atmosphere of a welcoming studio environment.

About Lucy
As a professional graphic designer and branding consultant, Lucy from Green Machine Creative blends her experience of running a modern design practice with the very special, traditional printmaking process of Letterpress. When the laptop closes at the end of the day, the traditional Vandercook printing press comes to life. Using vintage wood and metal type blocks, she creates unique typographic posters and cards to sell online and in stores.

Parking
Parking is available in The Bell Centre Car Park. Please use the second car park entrance on St Marys Way.
Accessing The Bell Centre
Access The Bell Centre from the large green gates from the car park, opposite the Cutting Room. Once in the Bell Centre, follow the walkway to the right and you'll find us at number 14 just before the Time Out Cafe.
