About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust receives around 330,000 referrals annually to its Children’s & Adults Services - with referrals coming in via different methods such as email, post, telephone, or eRS.

With increasing volumes of referrals coming in sporadically, the Trust would sometimes be overwhelmed. Periods of high demand also meant the referral process could be inefficient or inconsistent, with some referrers finding it difficult and slow, meaning patients didn’t receive the required care or response when they needed it. This led to concerns from referring clinicians, education professionals, and even parents.

The Trust wanted a digital solution to streamline the process and ensure referrals are recorded accurately on the relevant systems and in patient records, meaning they can be handled promptly.

Join Julie McCall - Head of Digital Programmes, and Chevonne Fletcher, Senior Digital Project Manager - Technology and Innovation, from Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust as they discuss the design and implementation of the award-winning ‘Digital Front Door’ project. Find out more about the 10 services already utilising the digitisation and automation of referrals and hear about what referral projects are coming next at the Trust.

Attend the webinar and learn how Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust are…

  • Improving data quality and accuracy with fewer errors and missing information on referral documents.
  • Reducing the number of redirected, rejected, or unsuitable referrals.
  • Making environmental savings with the reduction of paper-based referrals.
  • Working more efficiently as referrers only receive the relevant information they have requested.
