April 2025 will see the implementation of a new law, the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. This will change the disclosure process for every group that is currently accessing disclosure checks, and for some groups that are not, as well as impacting on the volunteers/staff that you disclosure check. To prepare for the forthcoming changes Volunteer Scotland Disclosure Services will be running information sessions about the major changes in the disclosure process and how these will impact on your group and volunteers/staff.
This will give you the opportunity to learn about what is changing under the new legislation and how you can prepare for working with the new Act. It will also give you the chance to ask any questions you may have about the implementation of the Act in 2025 but also how you should still work with the current disclosure legislation.
Note that these will be information sessions based around the current status of the implementation of the Act at the time of the session and whilst we may not have all information for implementation at the time this will give you a grounding in preparation for the implementation.
