Express yourself!
For this free, five-week peer support group, the focus is on fun, creative ways of expressing yourself through culturally diverse songs and music for women.
Becoming a mother can be the most extraordinary thing we ever do. It can also be the most challenging. Great music and singing can lift our moods and make us feel better, and has been used for thousands of years by women and birthing people for self-expression, to suppport each other and offer comfort to little humans.
Our Diversity Matters groups aim is to provide a voice and support for mums from diverse communities, bringing women together to talk about the complexities related to their culture, upbringing and heritage whilst balancing the challenges that come with the first year of motherhood. You absolutely don't have to be a singer to enjoy singing and take part.
These groups are informal, relaxed and baby-friendly (up to 12 months of age). This is more than just a singing group though. The focus is on your wellbeing, and having a chance to talk with other mums about what it's really like being a mum today, the expectations and pressures, and how to cope.
Bookings are essential due to limited spaces (and so we know how many biscuits to bring). Come connect with other mums in a warm, welcoming space.
