Welcome in the Spring this Bank Holiday weekend with a night of searing female-fronted bands presenting original music & epic musicianship!
Conjuring an otherworld of doomy-droney guitars, gouging cello and ritualistic collective voice, Dominie Hooper comes home to share new material in an intimate full-band show in the Longroom this May.
The DIY multi-instrumentalist is a homegrown Dartmoor talent, and a singular force — her voice is strikingly powerful, her songwriting rugged and dramatic, all propelled by her cello and a blistering live band. Think the brooding swagger of ‘I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight’, the raw intensity of Magnolia Electric Co. and the harrowing energy of PJ Harvey & John Parish.
2024 was a packed year kicking off with a UK tour supporting This Is The Kit and playing festival circuits incl. Deer Shed, Moseley Folk and Shambala, tearing up two headline UK tours of her own, galvanising her fans with a huge crowdfunder and the making of her keenly anticipated debut album.
With support from Help Musicians, PRSF and spins on BBC’s 6Music, Introducing, Radio 2, Radio Scotland, RTÉ 2 and more under her belt, 2025 is the year to join the growing number of eyes and ears eagerly awaiting this promising debut.
