We invite you to come join us this May Bank Holiday to embrace a holistic approach to addiction recovery and connect with others who know what it is to experience addiction.
Whether you want to get sober or already are this retreat is to bring us together to explore spiritual ways of keeping well and bring us together in a lovely place out in nature to share whats going on for us.
This is open to anyone with addiction of any kind and can include alcohol, gambling, work, relationships, underearning, debt, substances, lonliness, isolation, codependency, porn, sex, Information Technology, exercise, food and any others you can think of.
The purpose of this retreat is to create a safe space for healing, sharing, connecting, understanding and create community out in nature. We will also be working from a bell tent with a warm fire if necessary.
This is not a detox or addiction recovery program.
There is nothing quite like being sat around a fire out in the great outdoors, in community sharing our truths with others who get us because they just get us.
The whole basis of Down To Earth Sober is to create a recovery community out in nature where you get to explore which ways work for you. It merges recovery principles with spiritual practices outdoors up close and personal to the elements.
.We will hold sacred ceremony with Cacao and experience ancient, tribal practices like drumming which has been found to reduce stress, calm the nervous system and take us into a meditative state.
We will cover addiction and recovery, self care, the importance of surrender and other aspects of recovery and the role of spirituality in recovery. There will also be a workshop in self enquiry, creative expression, Trance Dance (dancing blind fold and letting your heart rule your head), sharing circles, Sound Healing with crystal bowls and the gong, mantras/Kirtan, Sacred Plant Medicine Cacao Ceremony, Drumming and alone time. There will be daily meditation sessions, spiritual practices such as mindful walking. If you dont want to take part in any of these things you dont have to either.
This retreat has been put together by Greta at Elf Meditation who is an experienced Event Facilitator, Shamanic Practitioner, Reiki Master, Meditation Teacher and Addiction Recovery Guide.
