About this event

Dr. Sarah Simblet is the author of the best-selling book Anatomy for Artists and will be sharing her expertise with us in this intensive two day introduction to human anatomy. If you are interested in learning more about human anatomy to support your figure drawing this practical draw-focused weekend course is a perfect place to start, providing much-needed context to the plethora of learning resources available online. Throughout the weekend Sarah will be giving personal feedback to everybody on the course, ensuring everybody is able to relate the ideas she will introduce to us to your own creative practice.

From September 2025, Sarah will be teaching the most comprehensive human anatomy course for artists in the UK here at the Draw studio. If you are interested in taking part in that course, this two-day introduction will be a great introduction to Sarah’s teaching.

What to Expect
Throughout the weekend Sarah will deliver a series of short lectures on human anatomy, supplemented by guided drawing exercises. Over the weekend you will have the opportunity to draw from anatomical models, skeleton specimens and a life model under the guidance of Sarah Simblet and Draw tutor Jake Spicer.
