Can I stay with my client during activities?

Our main aims are to encourage independence, improve confidence and self-esteem, and support the learning of social skills. To achieve this, we must be able to offer the people we work with their own space away from parents and carers. If you feel it’s necessary, parents/carers are able to attend.

Who will be running the activities?

Accepted Answer

All activities are run by a qualified member of staff.  Activities will always be run by Project Leader, James, from Enable Ability. The charity has Public Liability Insurance up to £10m.

Question 3

Will my client be expected to toilet and feed themselves?

Accepted Answer

Yes, parents and carers are welcome to join us to assist if required.

Question 4

What checks and training do your staff/volunteers have and do?

Accepted Answer

All our staff/volunteers have to provide two references when recruited and complete an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service, formerly the CRB check) certificate before they are allowed to support. Regular training adhered to with the local authority.

Question 5

The client needs to take medication at certain times.  What is your procedure?

This is the responsibility of the client themselves or the accompanying parent/carer.
