Who is this module aimed at?


The module will provide stimulating lectures and classroom discussions to apply current understanding to the nursing practice from participants’ clinical areas. Participants undertaking this module are expected to be working within environments where they are looking after patients with endometriosis.

Learning outcomes·        

  • Critically analyse endometriosis and treatment options, including the complexities and challenges in managing this condition.
  • Enhance knowledge of evidence-based practices in providing holistic care for individuals with endometriosis, focusing on both physical and emotional well-being.
  •   Apply advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based approaches to assess, plan, and implement nursing care for patients with endometriosis.
  • Navigate the complexities of treatment options for endometriosis, ensuring comprehensive nursing care that considers patient preferences, treatment outcomes, and potential challenges.
  • Demonstrate leadership in addressing health biases and inequalities, fostering inclusive care practices that promote equity and improve patient outcomes.

Entry requirements

Participants wishing to undertake this module should:

  • be supported by management
  • work in an suitable clinical environment e.g. A gynaecology or endometriosis service, GP practice

Module structure

This module will be divided into five learning blocks, each block being two weeks in length with one “join" day for each block.

Module block dates (online activities)

The course will be delivered virtually over 5 learning blocks. Each training block will contain a number of learning online activities, where participants will either need to: engage, read, listen, watch or join.

The "join" activities will be live webinars that will take place on Zoom. .
