Learning Outcomes:

  • Be able to recognise and describe common seizure types
  • Know how to manage seizures appropriately
  • Know how to record a seizure and understand the importance of an epilepsy care plan
  • Be able to describe the procedure for giving buccal / nasal Midazolam
  • Be able to describe the procedure for giving rectal Diazepam
  • Have an understanding of when rescue medication may be required and its benefits

Venue: Eliburn Support Service

Please use the main entrance rather than the staff entrance as a key is required.

On arrival, please report to social policy reception and advise the receptionist you are attending for training.

Parking: Livingston Free Church: Please park in the church next door as access is required for buses.

For security purposes, all staff attending training must wear their West Lothian Council lanyard and ID card at all times while on the premises.

Lunch and refreshments are not provided you may wish to bring your own, or lunch can be purchased within a one-mile radius.
