Frequently asked questions

When will the site open and close for the event

Gates open at the ground for those wanting to get into the spirit early from Midday on Thursday 12th June. We will be brining the curtain down at 12.00 on Tuesday 17th June. So that's a maximum of 5 nights. P.S. We would appreciate arrivals being with us between 12.00 and18.00 on day of arrival.

Is there a minimum booking ?

In response to demand we have continued the three night minimum pricing (to include Friday & Saturday) with flexibility on the 3rd night being Thursday or Sunday. Additional nights can be purchased if you wish to increase your stay. No refunds will be provided to early leavers or late arrivals.

Is there a booking fee included in your prices?

Yes. We are a volunteer club & managing such an event can be resource heavy. By partnering with Eventbrite we can manage the bookings more professionally and gain valuable information and data we would struggle to collect. Unfortunately we just don't have the man power to do everything ourselves.

How many Bookings can I make?

As each pitch needs a responsible person and to limit multiple bookings we are asking that one person/immediate family only can book only one pitch (tent or camper). We have set the ticketing up to reflect that.

What is your refund policy?

If you cancel more than 30 days before the booked date & paid in full, a refund will be given (minus any booking or fees). If you cancel less than 30 days prior to the first day of the Booking & you have paid in full there will be no refund provided. Any exception is at the discretion of FRFC

Are you accepting Caravans?

We are not accepting any NEW or non agreed paid caravan bookings for the event. There are a small number of caravans allowed on site with special dispensation but we are afraid due to ground constraints we cannot accept caravan bookings outside of that.

Please can you tell me more about the tent pitches are available at Falmouth Rugby Club

We have limited space so pitch sizes for tents are either (approximately) STANDARD 6 m x 5m or LARGE 7.5 m2. These are situated on the playing pitch & are not dog friendly. We also have to ban the use of BBQ's, Stoves, fires & smoking in this area. Please note cars are also not allowed on the pitch.

What size are the Motorhome pitches? Can we erect our Awnings?

Due to the shape of the ground and the pitch area we do our best to accommodate motorhomes as best we can working on vehicle size/requirements. However we would struggle with vehicles exceeding 8m in length. Pitch width is approximately 6 to 6.5m. Awnings may be erected in some pitches but not all.

Do you have a tent occupancy rule or unsupervised age rule?

For Standard pitches, we allow up to 2 adults & 2 children on a pitch. On the larger pitches we allow up to 4 adults & 2 children. Ideally 1 tent is allowed per pitch but if 2 smaller tents fit (including guy ropes) that would be allowed. Each pitch should have a responsible adult as the contact

Are dogs allowed on site?

Two pet dogs are allowed per MOTORHOME (on non-grass)pitches however there are some specific rules regarding control, access, waste etc. The club also reserves the right should a guests pet cause a nuisance for any reason, that the guest would be asked to either remove the pet from site.

Do you have shower/toilet facilities and running water available

Our showers are open throughout the weekend & we operate gender specific timings. Toilets are also open all weekend. Fresh drinking water is also available. Please remember though we are are not concierge camping or a C&C club site. This is a rugby club & our facilities may be a little rudimentary!

Will you be offering car parking also for non camping guests? Will the ANPR system be in operation?

Weekend parking for tent guests is limited but we will allow some parking to visitors to the club ( a designated venue) but will be limiting where & how long they can park for. ANPR will NOT be in operation for that weekend. We also hope guests will limit the movement of their vehicles after 6 PM.

What provision for the disposal of Grey & Black Waste will there be at the event

We are able to assist in the disposal of grey waste but as in previous years, there is NO provision for the disposal of Black waste on-site. We have reviewed this & looked for alternatives but we are unable to support black waste (including emptying into club toilets which is PROHIBITED)

How do we make contact for queries or questions from the rugby club around the event?

Please feel free to contact shantyfestival@falmouthrugbyclub.co.uk and we will endeavour to answer any questions as quickly as we can. Please note we will also be sending out additional correspondence and information running up to the event along with a mobile you can contact.

Can We get a copy of the Clubs Terms and Conditions & any specific site details?

Of course. A lot of questions could not be answered in full here so we would be happy to make our Terms & Conditions available to you either via email in soft copy. Please email shantyfestival@falmouthrugbyclub.co.uk for details. We are also planning to post details on a dedicated page on our site
