From May 26th to May 30th, The Willow Centre, with support from Department of Justice Canada, is proud to offer Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Training (SACIT)—a five-day specialized training designed to equip service providers, front-line professionals, and community partners with the skills and knowledge needed to support survivors of sexual violence and gender-based violence.
Sexual violence is a deeply traumatic experience, and the way a survivor is met during disclosure has a profound impact on their journey.
This training will provide participants with a deeper understanding of sexual violence, its causes and impacts, and the most effective trauma-informed responses.
Participants will gain practical tools to:
✅ Responding to disclosures.
✅ Prevent secondary victimization and reduce barriers to support.
✅ Understand and manage the effects of vicarious trauma.
✅ Foster collaboration among service providers to strengthen community support systems.
This initiative is more than just training—it is an opportunity to build community capacity, improve service delivery, and create a network of professionals equipped to support survivors with care and confidence.
