About this event

Come and find out about flash fiction and help to mark 100 years of the National Library.

Have a go at writing your own 100-word story in this friendly, relaxed workshop. Take your inspiration from different spaces in the building, Library staff, or an item from our Treasures exhibition.

As part of the workshop, you can enjoy a behind-the-scenes visit to the book stacks, a sneak peak in the Reading Room, as well as discovering more about the history of the library and its collections.

About the facilitator

Ruth Gilchrist facilitates creative writing for various charity and community groups. She writes flash fiction and poetry and is the author of ‘Bird Brained, a bird count in poems’ published by Black Agnes Press.
