Take a moment to breathe ... Join Woodlands Breathing at Binning Wood in East Lothian in this in person' event. Gift yourself and/or a friend, some time and space to experience forest therapy, to slow down in a ‘green spa’ to support your wellness. You will be invited to awaken your senses as you connect with yourself and your surroundings in the woods. Forest bathing is suitable for most fitness levels. Ticket price includes refreshments.

Please note that walks may need to be postponed after periods of severe weather. If so, the organiser will contact participants to rearrange or refund tickets.

Booking: please complete this form when booking your place, one for each participant.

Essential equipment: yourself (16 years and over) and your curiosity; suitable footwear and clothing for the season and weather.

What is forest bathing?

Forest bathing is inspired by 'Shinrin yoku', a Japanese practice. Your guide will offer a series of invitations encouraging you to experience 'for-rest walking', to slow down, be curious, connect with yourself and nature, to support your wellbeing. Each experience is unique.

What do I need to bring? Do I need any special equipment?

Bring yourself (16+ years) and an open mind. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for being outdoors & appropriate to the weather. No special equipment is required. Further details will be sent to registered participants before event.

What is the terrain like?

The woodland is fairly flat with many good paths. The trail used on the day will be tailored to suit participants present. There is a car park on site. The nearest public toilets are in East Linton or local cafes.

Will the experience go ahead in all weathers?

Generally, the event will go ahead in most weather so please come prepared. However, in the event of sever weather such as strong winds / storms, we may need to postpone an event - in which case, registered participants will be contacted in advance.

Do you offer events at other locations?

Yes, please check our website (www.woodlandsbreathing.co.uk) for details of other events. In person events are generally held across central Scotland. Remotely-guided online walks are offered so that you can connect across the world - from your local green space or the comfort of your own home.

Do you offer bespoke events, e.g. for corporate wellbeing?

Yes, we can tailor an event or series of events to suit your group whether that be corporate wellbeing, a group of friends and family, or 1:1. We can offer these events in person or online. Contact us to discuss options.

Do you offer other services?

Yes, we can guide you in immersive meditation, laughter yoga or breathwork. Laughter yoga combines initiated laughter with the deep breathing of yoga. A class can be enjoyed by most and is a fun workout - give it try! Contact us for details. Watch this space for any new offerings ...

Organised by

A forest therapy or forest bathing experience with Woodlands Breathing is offered in person here in Scotland or online (remotely guided) so that you can connect from your local green space wherever you are in the world or from the comfort of your home. Your Guide is certified by the ANFT. Sessions can be arranged for individuals joining a public group or bespoke groups (general wellbeing, groups of friends/family, 1:1, staff wellbeing). An online experience is via a phone, headphones and internet connection so requires a little technology to make it possible.

An in-person group is usually around 2.5 - 3 hours in duration while an online session is around 90 minutes. Forest bathing can be experienced by most fitness levels as it is a contemplative and gentle walk in green space. An online session can be done from your sofa, with a view of the sky and an element of nature while your Guide is walking.
