We are pleased to offer UoN staff and students another series of free Tai Chi and Qigong taster sessions during lunchtime (12:30–13:15) across UoN campuses. Sessions will take place on the following dates: Jubilee Campus (7 May), University Park (14 May & 21 May), and Sutton Bonington Campus (28 May). Registration opens two weeks before each session.
Join gold-medallist World and European Champion in Health Qigong and popular Yang-style Tai Chi instructor, Angela, for a 45-minute taster session, showcasing how the traditional Chinese practice of Tai Chi and Qigong can benefit body, breathing and mind.
Each session includes:
- Gentle body mobilisation, calming the breathing and mind;
- Step-by-step instruction of the movements, learning specific health benefits along the way;
- Flowing through the full routine to experience stillness in motion, accompanied by flowing music.
These taster sessions are ideal for novices to Tai Chi and Qigong. All movements are slow, gentle and low-impact, accessible to all, with the emphasis on working to your own comfort levels. Wearing loose comfortable clothing, wearing flat shoes, or working in bare feet, there is no need for special equipment; just bring yourself and your enthusiasm as Angela shares her passion for Tai Chi and Qigong with you!
