You’re Invited to an Afternoon of Compassion and Community

Enjoy unique and authentic Burmese tea & snacks and cake while coming together for a meaningful cause. Kids are welcome! It's a drop in event-come by anytime and stay as long (or as little)as you like!

We’re a group of Burmese citizens living in Borough of Richmond upon Thames, deeply heartbroken by what we’ve seen and heard coming from Myanmar, who wish to support our fellow citizens in their time of need and invite the local community to help.

Any kind donation at the event will contribute to providing essential aid, medical support, and rebuilding efforts for earthquake survivors in Myanmar. All proceeds will go directly towards relief efforts helping affected families rebuild their lives.

Background

On 28 March 2025 a 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar destroying in seconds homes, schools, entire communities and their financial and social ecosystems. Thousands of families have been displaced, struggling to survive without shelter, food, or medical care. With already limited resources due to ongoing conflict, this disaster has made an already dire situation even worse.

The local teams on the ground we are supporting are committed to reaching those in most urgent need, including ethnic and religious minorities and marginalized communities. We provide direct aid to those who are often overlooked and underserved in crisis situations through our trusted local networks.

Why Your Help Matters

Myanmar had already been facing immense challenges, from political instability to ongoing conflict and displacement. This earthquake has only deepened the suffering. The survivors face the loss of loved ones, carrying the weight of trauma, uncertainty and fear as they struggle to hold on to hope. In the course of a few minutes, the earthquake victims lost everything we take for granted – a roof over our heads, clean water out of a tap, clean clothes, the ability to cook a meal.
