Event Information

GENDER.ED spotlights cutting-edge academic and institutional research (including by PhD researchers and undergraduate dissertation students), student campaigns and change projects at the University of Edinburgh in an Annual Showcase event. This will also be an opportunity to interact with the community of gender and sexualities researchers and change agents at the University. The Showcase event will include a roundtable conversation and a reception.

15:15 - 16:15 Roundtable Discussion on 'Gender, sexuality and the authoritarian turn'

16:15 - 17:30 Showcase and Networking Reception

Speakers

The panel will be chaired by Dr Kaveri Qureshi, Senior Lecturer at the Global Health Policy Unit, School of Social and Political Science.

Confirmed speakers include:

Dr Nicola Boydell, Lecturer in Social Science and Public Health, Deanery of Molecular, Genetic and Population Health Sciences

Elisabeth Goemans, PhD Student in Hispanic Studies, School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures

Dr Kevin Guyan, Chancellor's Fellow and Director of the Gender + Sexuality Data Lab, Business School

This event will be in-person only.

This is a free event, which means we overbook to allow for no-shows and to avoid empty seats. While we generally do not have to turn people away, this does mean we cannot guarantee everyone a place. Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis.
