The talk explores the new Georgian Army Officers database https://www.georgianarmyofficers.org/ that has recreated the careers of over 50,000 officers in the British Army between 1790 and 1820. As well as covering how the database was created, we'll explore what it includes, how it can be searched and used, and then how it can be a springboard to unlock more detailed research, especially in the sometimes bewildering records of the War Office from the era.
