What: A Cacao ceremony and nature walk
When: Thursday 26th June 2025 at 19:00
Where: Meeting/parking at Camelot Rugby Club, then heading to the Gadespring Wetland Reserve, which is a 2 minute walk away. We will set off from the car park at 19:00
Who: Any males (aged 18+) in Bucks & Herts who are able to attend
How much: all of our Hector's Gentle-Man's Club events are free of charge!
What to expect: Gathering at the Gadespring wetland reserve we will spend some time out in nature mindfully listening to the sounds as well as enjoying a cup of cacao. It is a very rich nourishing drink used and revered in South America for thousands of years. This is sort of like hot chocolate but more bitter. Similar to dark chocolate in taste and contains many beneficial vitamins and minerals. We will be adding a little honey as well as some spices like cinnamon and nutmeg and it will be made with coconut milk. We will do a brief meditation while we slowly enjoy the drink and then go for a brief mindful walk on the site. Then we can take the time to talk, and catch up on how everybody is doing. There is no pressure to share anything you're uncomfortable with, but all conversation is strictly confidential. It is our hope that you can leave with a sense of improved well-being. Please note we plan to be outside for the duration of this event, so remember to bring appropriate footwear and clothing. If it rains we have a shelter available on site.
About Hector's Gentle-Man's Club:
HGMC is a safe space for men in the area to come together once a month to try new activities, meet new people and have a safe space to be themselves.
This group is organised by the local charity Hector’s House – and will be facilitated by our co-founder Robert and campaigns/events assistant Declan.
Each month we will be doing a get-together – be it going for walks, having a kick-about, or trying out activities such as woodwork or foraging. We might even sneak a cuppa in at the end. This is totally free of charge – and welcome to anyone that identifies as male over the age of 18.
