Why Trauma Informed Facilitation?

In recent times, societally, there is greater level of risk, a rise in anger and aggression and an increase in traumatic experiences. In this context, it is critical to understand trauma and the ways it shows up when working in groups. This may be because of the issues you are exploring in your work e.g. gender/race inequality, climate change, conflict etc., however it can show up in any group or topic. This course has been created to respond to the need for more trauma awareness and skills in trauma informed practice when working with groups.

The 2 hour live online session covers:

  • An introduction to trauma, the brain and the body
  • The principles of trauma-informed practice
  • Practical strategies for holding space
  • Resilience and looking after ourselves
  • Space for questions and resources for further research.
