In a non-descript mansion house, in a non-descript town, a group of extra-ordinary men and women worked to provide intelligence that would help to win the war.
But shhhhhh, you’d better keep it under your hat, because as far as the rest of the world is concerned, Bletchley Park doesn’t exist.
Peggy Valentine arrives at Bletchley in 1940, 18 years old, headstrong and gifted. Finding herself in a world of boffins, soldiers and debutantes, Peggy has to shoulder the burden of high pressure war work whilst navigating a new world of feuds, friendships and growing up in a frame of absolute secrecy.
But what of the world beyond Bletchley? As the war rages on in Europe, the stakes are raised for Peggy and her friends as they work to protect their loved ones fighting abroad.
Mikron invites you to enter a world of secrets, songs and cyphers as we get to know the heroes of Hut 3.
Integrated Audio Description
Every performance of Hush Hush! has integrated audio description, which means that we have worked hard to make the play enjoyable and interesting to listen to for all audiences without the need for headsets.
About Mikron Theatre:
One of Arts Council England’s National Portfolio Organisations, multi-award-winning Mikron was founded in 1972. 2025 marks their 53rd year of touring exceptional theatre in extraordinary places. They're the UK’s most prolific theatre company, touring to nearly 140 venues per year. They tour on their narrowboat, Tyseley, in the summer and by road in spring and autumn, to every conceivable type of venue, reaching audiences that other companies cannot.
Mikron Theatre Company began when Mike Lucas, Sarah Cameron and Ron Legge took a show to the Edinburgh festival in 1963. Mikron was named after MIKe, RON and Sarah CameRON. The Mikron seed was sown in 1963 when Mike Lucas, a jobbing actor, realised that his mission was to take theatre to unusual venues and new audiences outside of London. Today they still hold fast his original principles, touring the country with shows which both inform and entertain.
