About this event

I'm Power-Meant: A Rites of Passage Journey for Black & Mixed Women is...

A fortnightly transformative series designed to take Black, Brown, and Mixed Heritage Women on a deep, empowering exploration through the ages and stages of womanhood. Rooted in the Rites of Passage framework, journey into the unique experiences of Women with Afrikan, Caribbean, Mixed Heritages. From pre-womb to past-tomb, through a lens of Cultural awareness, this webinar series will look at the different stages of Womanhood.

What is the I'm Power-Meant Series about?

Each episode will explore the lived experience of Black, Brown, and Mixed Heritage Women, designed to foster empowerment, resilience, and connection with one's true self:

  • The Holistic Journey – From pre-womb to past-tomb, we will explore the entire life cycle, emphasising the spiritual and Cultural dimensions frequently overlooked and marginalised by Eurocentric perspectives. The first episode sets the stage for understanding the expansive nature of existence, from conception through the stages of life’s transitions.

  • Ancestral Wisdom & Early Life Experiences – Reconnecting with Cultural and Spiritual roots is central to shaping womanhood and identity. The Series highlights the power of Ancestral knowledge, passed down through generations, and how early life experiences deeply influence our understanding of self and place in the world.

  • Navigating Toxic Spaces – The Series equips women with practical tools to navigate both personal and professional environments that minimise their value. It offers strategies to confront and overcome the impacts of systemic oppression, positioning participants as empowered leaders of their own journey.

  • Collective Healing & Empowerment – A vital component of this journey is the creation of a supportive community where women can share their experiences and learn from each other. This embraces collective empowerment and helps build a stronger sisterhood, rooted in empathy, trust, and solidarity.

  • Cultural & Spiritual Growth – The Series encourages deep reflection on how Ancestral wisdom, Spiritual practices, and Cultural traditions can serve as tools of empowerment, healing, and leadership. We will explore principles like MA'AT, Nguzo Saba, and other frameworks that guide the journey of womanhood and self-empowerment.
